As part of the #itIsNotTooLate Morske Livade project on Saturday 16th September at OPG Pueblo Escondido in Lončari, there will be a workshop on color separation and glass barreling.
It is about the material that the American artist Dodd Holsapple will use for the purposes of the installation “See Glass Again”, which was chosen as the winning work of the competition “On Accepting The Undesirable”.
Holsapple, an American artist who will replace California’s Santa Monica with Bukovica for a month, arrived at the residence in Lončari on Friday, 8th September and will stay until October 10.
The glass waste that was collected in several eco-actions in the canyon area of the River Bijela will be used by Holsapple to create a drywall with a mosaic of eels in the shape of a ring that will form a space for sitting, socializing out or talking.
Holsapple will lead the workshop of separating 5,500 pieces of glass in cooperation with the students of professor Josip Zanki from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and volunteers from the organization Ocean of Knowledge.
In the spirit of previous campaigns and activities, creatives, mountaineers, activists, and citizens of the local community are also participating in the activities this time.
The event starts at 10:00 a.m. in Lončari, and lunch is provided for all event participants at 2:00 p.m.
The workshop is part of the project „#itIsNotTooLate – Seagrass beds: Zostera marina, Zostera noltei and Cymodocea nodosa, their significance for fish life and the overall ecosystem of the three seas area“, as part of campaign at the end of June 2022 also held to clean up the River Zrmanja.
The action is part of a project approved through the Three Seas FLAG competition for the selection of the Measure 2.1 project. support for the valuation, protection and promotion of the natural resource base – rivers, seas and coasts within the implementation of the Local Development Strategy in fisheries FLAG Three Seas for the period 2014-2020.
